Personal Statement:
I am 20 years of age and have 6 years of work experience within customer facing and service roles. I am a creative, energetic, and adaptable individual with a strong work ethic seeking an opportunity to work within hospitality/events management. I am confident in stepping out of my comfort zone and exposing myself to challenging situations. I have always been part of a team within either work environments or competitive sport; I pride myself on being able to motivate others through strong communication and leadership skills.

Education:

I particularly enjoy the financial and legal aspects of event operations as well as the design and logistics management. During my first year, I created an event website with a full lineup poster, a production schedule, and a site plan of a sporting event. I am comfortable in the use of Excel software and over the first year, I am currently predicted a 2:1.

Jan 2022 – Present – Event Organiser – Robertson Construction Ltd
I have currently taken on an internship which entails organising a 250-person charity fun day for Robertson Construction. My main roles are, booking entertainment, food and drink vendors, managing expenses within a tight budget, overseeing and creating event posters and providing a full risk assessment and licensing.

Nov 2019 - Feb 2020 - Shadowing Events Manager - Box Nightclub Nottingham
For three months I shadowed the events manager and the owner of Box nightclub. This was a huge opportunity to gain vital experience in the hospitality industry. I was responsible for every aspect from opening to locking up, crowd control, entry, stock taking and replenishment, equipment checking and clearing up.
As a result of my dedication, I was asked to produce a Tech/House event which involved artist liaison, promotion, and strategic marketing. Tusk events has been successful and is now my current event page.

Sep 2021 – Jan 2021 - Residential Adviser - Manchester Metropolitan University
I was an ambassador for the University and was required to run weekly events which increased the student engagement around campus. I produce relevant content for social media channels and come up with ideas for future events.
Jun 2021 – Present – Bartender - HAP Solutions Group
I have worked at the Download Festival pilot event, Escape To Freight Island, Ducie Street Warehouse, Victoria Warehouse and Lancashire Cricket Club. Within this role I have learnt the skills it takes to provide service excellence and ensure customers receive a high-quality experience.

Sep 2021 – Present – Riff Raff Events – The Warehouse Project Street Team
During the week I am a promoter for The Warehouse Project and Riff Raff events whereby I aim to sell tickets through my social media influence. I flyer for both organisations and work as front of house for Riff Raff making sure everyone in line has a ticket and goes through the right queue making their experience as smooth as possible.

Aug 2021 - Aug 2021 – Pink Moon Camping - Leeds Festival - Summer Festival Work
I worked at Leeds Festival for 11 days which entailed a variety of roles such as the build of tents and structures pre-event. Throughout the event our team of 19 had to ensure campers had a premium experience, maintain luxury toilets and a pamper parlour. Hands on roles such as labouring as site crew, front of house and reception roles. Throughout summer I worked at Pink Moons yard; airbeds, blankets and tents were cleaned and setup to ensure they were ready for the festivals. We loaded the trucks with kitchen appliances and sufficient equipment for the upcoming festivals.

June 2019 – Sep 2021 - Sales Assistant – Sainsbury’s
I have been working in retail for four years. I have always been motivated to work; my contract was 12 hours a week however, over the past year I have averaged 30+ hours a week. I’m used to handling high pressure situations, especially as I have worked all the way through the pandemic. Working in retail has been beneficial to allow me to gain confidence when speaking to a wide range of people, improve customer service skills and has allowed me to develop a strong relationship with the team I work. In my current store I have developed skills in the bakery and have taken on responsibility to do a full bake.

Sep 2017 - May 2019 - Sales Assistant – Boyes Arnold
I worked every weekend for nearly two years at Boyes in Arnold, where I learnt the fundamentals of stock control and rotation. Whilst here I was introduced to a wide range of products and had to adapt and learn about these in order to improve customer service.

2015 – 2019 - Duke Of Edinburgh
I have passed the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards showing that I am committed to carrying out all that has been expected of me to achieve these prestigious awards. It was hard work but worth all the effort. The Gold award was a tough challenge that I overcame, walking roughly 22km a day for 4 days and 3 nights in Snowdonia National Park. In addition to this I have carried out over 2 years of volunteering throughout my Duke of Edinburgh award. My volunteering consisted of teaching children how to play cricket and helping inside a charity shop.

Interests:
During the pandemic I spent a lot of my time learning how to DJ and live streaming on social media platforms, creating a small following. Most weeks over the summer I was live streaming on a social page and have done select sets for Mind Charity in April (2021). I am now at the stage of being able to use club equipment effectively and have DJed at a bar in Nottingham (Cucamaras) and at Brickworks social in Manchester.
I attend events every week whether it is music or sport. The pandemic proved to me how much I rely on these public gatherings and I am now passionate about securing my future career working as part of team that delivers professional events. I would like to be a part of the organisation of events and make those attending as elated as I feel when I am present.
I am passionate about sport and have competed in many different sports, one of which is playing for the Manchester Metropolitan University football 1st team. I keep in shape through regular exercise at the gym and also running and playing squash. I am the organiser of an 11 a side team which I partake in every Sunday when not training and playing for the University.
